Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) has requested assistance from the South End Improvement Corporation (SEIC) for implementing a Homeowner’s Incentive component of the region’s Transportation Demand Management Program (TDM). This project will have a three year term, with an option for an additional two years.
SEIC will provide assistance to new homeowners in the South End of the City of Albany, defined as Delaware Avenue on the western border, the Port of Albany on the eastern border, Madison Avenue to the north, and Mount Hope Drive/Route 9W to the south. The South End is recognized by the City as a transit supportive neighborhood on the basis of available transit service, pedestrian accommodations, limited parking or limited car ownership, and the presence of transit dependant populations. Therefore, CDTA is willing to use available TDM money to provide qualified homeowners with two bus passes per household, per month, for 24 months as part of the TDM Homeowner’s Incentive Program. This program includes the requirement that new homeowners occupy the premises for at least 24 months after the purchase of their home.
