A senior homeowner in the South End of Albany came to SEIC in the winter of 2008-2009 with a heating problem. Magnolia Terrace:
A deteriorating roof had resulted in the infestation of birds in the attic story of a South End resident's home. The resulting destruction of property and health concerns caused the resident to contact South End Improvement Corporation (SEIC) for help. Using RESTORE grant funds in December of 2007, the roof was able to be repaired. The birds and their nesting were removed, and both the roof and the attic were reconstructed and freshly painted.
